Bridge, road to be constructed in Kunduz, BaghlanKABUL: The public works ministry on Tuesday announced construction of a bridge and a 20km of road in northern Kunduz province and central Baghlan province respectively. In a statement issued here the ministry said public works minister Suhrab Ali Safri had signed a contract with two private companies - Wadan and Imran Miakhel construction companies in this regard. The Aqtash Bridge in Khanabad district of Kunduz and the road in Baghlan Jadid district of Baghlan will take nine months to complete, the release said. The bridge would cost approximately 19 million afghanis and the road connecting the Baghlan Jadid to Nahrin district would cost 70 million afghanis. Both of the projects have been funded by the World Bank and Afghanistan Reconstruction Fund.
